The driver of the boat must be 21 years of age or older and fluent in English.
What is the minimum age for passengers on a rental boat?
There is no minimum age for passengers on a rental boat but any passenger under the age of 19 needs to have the rental waiver signed by their legal guardian.
What do I need to bring with me to rent a boat?
2 items are required (1) a government issued photo ID (2) $500-$1000 deposit of either a major credit card or cash deposit.
Are there any additional costs on top of the hourly rental rate?
A one off $10 insurance fee per driver per trip, fuel cost and tax are not included in the hourly rental rate. The cost of the fuel depends on how fast and how far you travel. On average boat fuel costs range from $10-$40 per hour.
Do I need a boat license to rent a boat?
No. We provide you with a free one day boating license when you rent with us.
Do you provide Life Jackets?
Yes, we provide Life Jackets. We have Life Jackets for all ages including infants.
Is there a limit to where I can go on the boat?
Yes, the boundary to the west is Bowen Island (15km from our location) and the boundary to the east is Indian Arm (25km from our location) as indicated by the red line on the following map. See map >>
Can I reserve our boat in advance?
Yes, we strongly recommend that you reserve your boat rental in advance to ensure that you get the boat that you want. You can book your boat rental online click here..
What is your cancellation policy for for boat rentals that are booked in advance?
We have a standard 48 hours cancellation policy. Those cancelling 48 hours or more prior to their reservation will receive a full refund of their payment. Those cancelling 48 hours or less prior to their reservation can re-schedule their boat rental to a new date. Those cancelling or trying to change rental duration/date within 48 hours of their reservation or “no shows” will be charged the full rental rate. What days are charged at the weekday rate?
Monday-Friday is charged at the weekday rate. Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays are charged at the weekend rate.
Is the drinking of alcohol allowed on the boat?
No. The same rules regarding drink and driving on the road apply to drivers on the water and is policed by the Coastguard. If we feel a person is already under the influence of alcohol at the time of arrival we will use our discretion and refuse service to that person.
Can I pick up passengers at another dock?
No, all passengers must be at the boat rental office prior to their rental to sign the waiver and cannot be picked up at any other location.
Can I bring my dog on the boat?
Yes, dogs are allowed on the boats. Any dogs weighing over 40lbs would be counted as a passenger due to weight capacity’s on the boats. There is a $10 clean up fee if there are hairs and dirt left in the boats. Dogs must stay off the leather seats at all times.
What fishing equipment can we rent?
Fishing and Crabbing rental is not available now due to COVID-19 issue. You can bring your own fishing/crabbing equipment on 16ft and 17ft boat. $20 extra cleaning fee is required at time of check out. Do you provide fishing licenses?
We recommend you buy a one day tidal water fishing license online prior to arrival. A one day license costs around $8. Follow this link to obtain a fishing license online ..
